sounds like you use flstudio..

if you do, use maximus, it can really upgrade the sound of a song
to sound more professional.

your songs are incredibly fluid.

i really like when songs can connect its verses and pull together a nice piece.
im going to take music theory so i can better understand the composition of songs.
so 2 questions:
1. what music generator do you use?

2. have you taken music theory or had any music experience outside of your music gen.

and about the song: it really progresses well and everything ties together almost perfectly. it ind of an old song (3 years) so youve gotten WAY better since then, so i cant really give any advice, as if you need it.

too generic for my tastes

needs something to wow me.
but it is a very nice arrangement, although a little repetitive (same chord progression throughout)

its not the same progression but they are similar. i think part of the repitition is because i have no real breakdown, it goes from one beat to the next without a real break.

i just couldnt get anything to fit well, so i kept it hardcore throughout.

needs a hook

kinda just background music for me (although one of my songs needs ahook, but w/e)
i guess it IS a loop, but most songs need a higher pitched noise to catch attention.

nice use of noise

most people (including me and my earlier songs) dont know that you have to put ambient noise to fill blank spots.
but yeah, drums need to be louder if not totally changed.
the main lead is really loud compared, turn it down a smidgen so it doesnt overpower all of the other instruments.
really a 3, bu im votig 5 on everyhting from now on to offset 0-bombers.

where do you get all of your effects?

if you use FL studio, do you use any 3rd party effexts/instruments?
because i just cant find the sound i want from the effects i have.
btw you are great at mastering.

I use a combination of Reason and Cubase for all my tracks. Recently I have picked up Ableton Live but have yet to upload anything made with it.

Generally I use whatever tools are provided by the programs I use. I haven't used any third party VST's as I don't feel the need for them.

but it IS only 42 seconds, so...yeah.
you should use some different instruments, or at least experiment a little.

This track is really old. It was one of the first I ever made. Mastering is horrible, synths are horrible and the beat is weak.

I don't even like this, but I felt it had to be uploaded to show people what my "sound" was back in the days.

this is actually really good

people on newgrounds are fags most of the time, i keep getting 0-bombed, and that shit really pisses me off.
but this is a really nice song, man.
buildup's a little slow, but the song is 6 min long, so whaddya expect.
but anyways, something more flowing that spans out to fill the empty space (echo
doesnt count) could help during the slower parts to keep attention.

I don't mind. If that's what they gets them off, then let the babies have their bottle. What I do love and what makes me want to continue uploading stuff to Newgrounds, is the dedicated few who back up their vote with a reason. I really need your criticism to improve the quality of this track.

I will try to add some more elements and tighten the buildup.
