youre a very good composer

but nothing really stands out, try doing the whole "outside the box" thing.
its where what you think to do naturally you dont do, but try to tweak it a little to surprise the listener i guess.
also, work on the EQ.
if you use FLstudio, maximus is a great plugin that really helps out with EQ.

JohnLeprechaun responds:

Thanks for the review, but I don't know how to equalize.

the chip sounds

need to be a little louder "sega" and the sonic music need a little mre volume, but not the game effects.
its a little boring, though, and the snares are really quiet.
a nice tume in all, but need better EQ.
look up whittaker on NG for really good examples of EQ.

crud responds:

werd up. thanks

this is really nice

misc has some really nice sounds going on today.
drums should be EQ'd a little to blend in better (theyre a little loud in the beginning, even for hip hop)
but yeah, really great composure.
like the panning effects, also it needs a hook, or soe transition to help listeners pick out the hook better.

crud responds:

thanks for the score and review. i'm certainly guilty of wanting to bump this jam and let the peak meter go (just can't let go of the bass the bass) but i forget that people have better speakers than me. good tip on the hook, something to tie it all together is needed.

reminds me of Earthbound

the bassline, mostly.
but its a really nice song, great drum and composure.
jumps around a bit, but nice and catchy at parts.

mickeyblouse responds:

Many thanks! I didn't have Earthbound in mind, but I love the music from that title, so you've paid me a great compliment.

i think

this would really fit into ambient.
its a really nice song!
bass is a little strong, tho.
but here's a protip:
vote it up in misc so the 0-bombers cant hurt you when you change genres.
but yeah, really good song, man.
keep it up!

bowserhunter responds:

Thanks for the review!
And i was already doing the "protip" :P anyways thanks for the 9

its good.

but not GREAT.
great composure and skill, but could use better EQ and more professional-sounding instruments.
btw, it should be.
pps. be sure to check out my other music =P

e991e responds:

thanks for the review! i plan on remaking this with my new VSTs. it will sound better i promise

and thanks for the grammar lesson ;D

hell, i'l write a review.

perhaps you should have juiced it up a bit before putting in on newgrounds.
you shouldnt just put random tests on here.
but hey, it sounds cool.

Saigon responds:

this wasn't a test. I was attempting to do a percussion version of the phasing technique. Although it won't sound bad with different instruments...
Thank You for the review! :D

actually really nice

eq is pretty good (could use polishing, high pitched noises could be compressed)
good little tune, a little repetitive, but its 1:30, so w/e.
i really like the transition, it was really great.
this could use some professional touches, but for beatmaker, very nice.
5/5
8/10

MikeBlade responds:

Appreciate the review. Yea its a tad repetitive because I didn't want to make something that would over take a flash. But i can agree with the compression comment totally. I will try harder in the future, thanks.

actually really nice

helped your scores out a little, because i'm just cool.
it sounds like it would be in a videogame, like icey or something.
btw, do you play piano?
its in a lot of your music.

SkatingIsGenetic responds:

No, I don't play piano actually, lol.

I'm just smitten with the instrument.

I play guitar but I don't have a good enough mic for that. >.<

Glad you liked.

:)

very MIDI instruments.

you are a good composer and all, but if you put more effort into your music, it could really do awesome shit, brahette.

SkatingIsGenetic responds:

Yeah I know.

I have an F in the effects department.

And mastering.

I'm going to look up tutorials because I just can't grasp the concept of..

Well, panning to it's full effect or I mean getting, at all, even a smidgen of professional like quality.

Even though 2/3's of it accounts for my lack of vsts and good sounding instrumentality.

Grr.

But yes, tutorials are in order.

But where to start? ..
