wokrs on NG,
ok, heres some tips.
invest some money in a guitar to USB cord, it will really improve the guitar quality (and theyre cheap)
record guitar and voice seperately (dunno if you did, but its a good tip)
when you sing dont breath into the mic, it distorts, sing above the mic, not into it.
the song sounds good, you just need to edit it a bit to make it sound that much more professional.
and use a metronome if youre timing is off (if you dont want it to get in the recording, use a metronome in earphones.)

toastedavalanche responds:

Cheers for the mic and the USB chord advice. I'm still practicing with a metronome (I stupidly left it till really late) so as soon as I'm good enough the tunes will improve. Glad you liked it.

dude.

there's some stuff wrong with your song,
1. EQ (its out of wack)
2. the instruments (very MIDI)
those are the 2 biggest ones you should worry about right now.
listen to some pros and listen to how they sort instruments.
the song is too crowded.
look, i dont mean to come off as a dick, but the song needs serious re-doing.

MoNkEyBoY1993 responds:

lol, thanks, alot, man.

I'm not a pro, myself; i just do this for fun as a lil' hobby of sorts.

thanks a bunch for the feedback. :)

zolzer

is a smart guy, read it.
and the reverb clouds up at points, pull it back,
the cymbals need more twang and need to be a WEE bit louder.
and some tracks (piano, mostly) need to be quiter.
spend a god amount of time EQ'ing and your song will sound a LOT more professional.

FairSquare responds:

Thanks for all the advices! The only point that i don't agree with you on is that the piano needs to be more quiet, but i'll look into that too ;-)
I really appreciate your review! :D

lol

its "enemies"
but its a good song nonetheless,
a little cheesy, and its kind of low quality (just use a better exporter or something)
but it works, good job.
i voted 5.

veteranpie responds:

Meh. i didn't put much into this one though.

lol

beginner? lol coulda used a soft slap-popping.
and the low note should change a little bit, not just the same note, its sounds ok as is, but it couldve sounded cooler, man.

TheDraxor responds:

Ah sorry, wasn't in the mood for slapping at the time :p I'll put up some slap another day~ Thanks for the review. The low note was simply my open string.

its trance

cant expect it to sound much different than any other trance out there, but it is professionally done, so kudos.
id like to hear a trance that doesnt use cymbals every 5 seconds.
or a trance that didnt use the heavy saw for 90% of the song.
but then again.
it wouldnt be a trance.
its an ok genre if you like the occasional jumpy song, but unless you look REAAAALLLLLLYYYYYY hard,
it all has the same timbre, i gess is what im trying to say..

MrAw3s0me responds:

thx for the review , and yeh , i understood what ur trying to say , its essential to dont make it repetitive , and on that point , im not that good , so yea , trying to wotk this out for a long time :-P

i dunno a lot about ambient

but i liked it, good reverb and it didnt cloud up and distort.
liked it.
keep on keepin on.
id like it if you looked at somma my stuff, kinda give an opinion.
thanks, man.

PoyzenJam responds:

thanks, glad you liked it. and sure ill take a look.

ssounds like a beginning

extend the bass as the song progresses, from 1/4 notes to 1/2 or stretch them until the next note, and add more reverb to the bell, pull back on that cowbell-sounding thing. nice tune and good beat, very tight, but parts of the song have to loosen up to show off how nice the bassline is.

aloneagainfriend responds:

yeah ty

lol at Xdusk.

haha dude.
well let's see.
very smooth and it works nice, but there's something missing,
maybe something more high-pitched that has a nice rythm and can repeat to catch listener's ears better.
and if you can write, you should try rapping to some of these, you definently have beat. or just ask someone to rap for you.

freddyfinger responds:

yeah it's a more slowed down and laid back track from my other tracks. it doesn't really start until about 41 seconds. i'm not really sure what else i could add to it heh. i'm totally not a good rapper haha, i just make the beats and submit to the ap. if anyone is interested they can rap over them. thanks for your review and suggestions. by the way, what program(s) do you use to make music?

use different instruments.

this peice couldve been better if you wouldve picked better instruments, and added ambient noises and well, made it not so 3-track.
work longer picking out instruments and TWEAK THEM for chrissakes. there are some good songs that go to waste beacause the writer was too lazy to make their own instruments.

saxpro responds:

ok, i'll see if i can tweak the instruments

ty for the review!
